For their resin bound driveway our clients, who lived in the Tyldesley area of Manchester chose to have their new driveway in pearl blush aggregate and a charcoal block around the edge. To match up with this they opted to have the same colour combination for the pathway. The neat charcoal block trim created a nice border and defined the edges of the driveway and path. We were able to accommodate existing trees and bushes as well as work around the lawned area.

We fitted the charcoal block edging first and then mixed and laid the aggregate over the top of the tarmac. As usual we used 7.5 UV stable resin kits. The resin and the tarmac are both porous so as a combination this means that the driveway is SUDs compliant. As the driveway and path featured a split level, we used a sleeper to lift the lower section to the upper level.

In addition, there was a manhole cover in the middle of the driveway. Unless dealt with correctly, this could end up being an unwanted feature of the driveway, so we changed it by using a disguised lid.
