We recently completed laying a new resin bound driveway in Eccles, Salford. The first part of the process was to excavate and clear the area where the driveway was being laid. We used a charcoal block brick along the edge of the driveway. This defines the perimeter, highlighting the shape of the driveway. We also matched the step with this by using a charcoal KS key kerb in a half moon shape.
The next part of the process was to cover the area with a layer of permeable tarmac which makes the driveway, SUDS compliant. Once this had set, we were then able to cover it with the resin bound aggregate. Our clients decided to have Titan Silver aggregate, and we used our standard 7.5kg resin kit. We also used a recessed manhole lid and covered this with the aggregate. This made it more discreet on the new resin bound driveway. For the final stage of the process, we used crushed glass to cover the surface of the driveway. This is for traction as it acts as an anti-skid system.
In addition to the new resin bound driveway, we built a wall along the perimeter of our clients’ land. We used russet brick to build the wall with an over sail to match next doors wall.
