Gorgeous Resin Bound Driveway in Burnage – It might be Glacier Blend Aggregate but it’s Certainly Not Cold!
Another beautiful resin bound driveway featuring clean lines and straight angles, has been recently completed by New World Resin Driveways to the front and side of a house in Burnage.
Our clients had a charging point at the front of the house for their car but needed to improve access to it so that they could park outside and plug it in. They also wanted to improve the appearance of their driveway as well as have a path to run along the side of the house leading to the back door. They decided to have a new resin bound driveway and use the same-coloured aggregate for the path. This created a nice cohesive feel to the outside space.
Our clients opted to have glacier blend aggregate for their resin bound driveway in Burnage and path. When you look closely at the aggregate there is a lovely combination of different shades of grey and white stone. We laid charcoal block bricks along the edge of the driveway and path. The colour of the bricks highlighted the charcoal colour in the aggregate, in fact it heightened the intensity of all the colours. Laying a brick edge also defines the shape of the resin bound driveway in Burnage nicely framing it.
We also built two steps using charcoal KL kerb stones that matched the brick edging, one at the front and one at the back door. We used the glacier blend aggregate on the top of both steps which complemented the driveway and path and matched everything together. An additional part of this project involved putting in 6” base panels along the fence as next doors garden was higher.
One of the final parts of the process was to brush into the joints of the brick blocks, kiln dried sand. A tarmac strip was also laid across the front of the driveway where it met the public footpath. Crushed glass was spread over the surface of the driveway which prevents it from being slippery.
As with every resin bound driveway, we laid it on permeable tarmac to make it SUDS compliant. It’s important that with any new driveway the surface is always permeable and if not that there is a drain installed. This is to ensure that rainwater has somewhere to flow into rather than collecting on the surface. As with all our project we used 7.5 UV stable kits as standard.
